Most of the time being healthy is associated with being expensive, but it doesn’t have to be that way! In fact, here are a few tips that can help you save money and live a healthier life.
Staying hydrated is really important. You should be drinking about 8 cups a day. A cup, or 8 fluid ounces, is about half a standard water bottle. Drinking as much as you’re supposed to in a day to keep your body hydrated is about the cost of 4 plastic water bottles. A way to save some money could be to invest in a reusable water bottle. Though it may seem more expensive at the moment, it saves you money in the end, and saves the earth as well.
The cheapest and healthiest way to get somewhere is by foot. Unfortunately, it’s not always the fastest route. Something with wheels, like a bike, skateboard, or roller blades might be faster. Not using your car all the time will save you gas money as well as add some exercise in your schedule. Without driving you can also avoid the unplanned expenses of a parking ticket.
Eating out can be healthy or unhealthy depending on where you go and what you order. Asking to substitute some things for others may make a meal healthier and still as enjoyable. Sometimes restaurant portions are a lot bigger than a typical serving size. Asking for a box in the beginning and portioning out your food will stop you from overeating as well as give you another meal for the next day at the same cost!
Make your coffee at home instead of getting it at a coffee shop every day. Making your coffee is a lot cheaper and a lot healthier. By making your own coffee you will know exactly what’s in it. A lot of drinks at coffee shops contain different sugars and syrups that you may not even know that you’re drinking.
