Michigan Program for Going Back to School
Growing up, some hear questions like “What do you want to be when you grow up?” or “Where do you want to go to school?” We then start to make a plan. However, as we all know life does not always go as planned. Things happen and we are on a different path. Maybe you just needed a little bit of time to decide school was for you. All of that is OK, it’s about making sure you are ready for this path. Once you decide to go back to school that daunting worry about paying for school starts to come into play. With so many programs out there, this should not be as big of a worry as you think.
Re-Connect

A new program was introduced in February 2021, in Michigan, to help encourage people who are over the age of 25 to go back to school to either finish or start to earn a degree for free. Yes, free! This is a great opportunity for so many. There are just a few requirements such as:
- At least 25 years old
- Have lived in Michigan for a year or more
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have not yet completed a college degree
This program does not need to be paid back and is good for four years. With several community colleges to choose from, this is a little motivator to start thinking about how going back to school can work for you
Finding your why

For many we find excuses of why not to go back to school. With this opportunity, finances should not be one of them. For me personally, my mom was 55 years old when she was attending the local community college for her Bachelor’s degree. She is my inspiration to go back and finish my degree! Find your inspiration or your why and fulfill your dreams.
